While I entered the basketball world through the media realm, I knew that journalism wasn’t where my future would be long term. It helped me refine my storytelling (and marketing skills) but it took about five more years before I realized I was a natural marketer utilizing the ability to connect with an audience, to build my business with a heavy dependence on the advent of social media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook).
North Pole Hoops Would launch in January of 2011, and evolve each year in scope and service—media outlet, scouting, marketing, basketball camps, tournaments, leagues, mentorship, sponsorship.
Basketball is my first love & passion, and the basketball world is where I honed my entire skillset—where I was able to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes, consistent evolution year by year, that’s where I learned how to become a leader and empower people, how to relate to other people / different personalities; it’s where I hit rock bottom and learned how to climb out. While NPH is a product of TS; TS is also a product of NPH— a platform for me to pursue my passion of entrepreneurship.
